Nestled at 3992 Ringgold Rd, this delightful eatery offers a taste of authentic Latin American cuisine that beckons food lovers from all over. The charming ambiance paired with friendly service sets the stage for a memorable dining experience.

One of the standout features of Pupuseria Marelyn is its tantalizing selection of traditional pupusas. These stuffed corn tortillas, a staple of Central American cuisine, come in various flavors, from cheese to beans, and even more adventurous options like ayote (zucchini). Diners rave about the generous fillings and the perfect texture of the pupusas, making them a must-try for both newcomers and seasoned enthusiasts.

As Jennifer Bye notes, the beef tongue taco is especially noteworthy, with its incredibly soft meat cuts complementing the flavors of the salsas and extras that accompany the dish. Pairing these tacos with yuca fries offers the ideal crunch, enhancing the overall meal experience. Nicol Martinez echoes this sentiment, emphasizing the captivating flavors and relaxing atmosphere, while also highlighting the amazing service that makes you feel right at home.

The slaw is generously served and, as described by many customers, adds a refreshing contrast to the hearty flavors.

Pricing at Pupuseria Marelyn is also a strong point, according to Hali, who found her affordable lunch to be both delicious and well-packaged. For just $7.50, she enjoyed an ayote pupusa and rice that packed a flavorful punch. This affordability, combined with the freshness of the ingredients, truly sets this restaurant apart.

Although some have found the entrance somewhat unassuming, as Wapow points out, the vibrant food and welcoming staff make it all worthwhile. Prices were fair. I had beef tongue taco which is one of my favorites because of the soft meat cuts and it was really good. I had some pupusas which were similar to ones I had in Puerto Rico and the flavors were also good. Salsas and extras that came with it added to the flavor. I also got yuca fries that were also good and I am happy with my meal.

Delicious and affordable lunch. I ordered an ayote puppusa and rice to go. It was packaged very well. Cost 7.50. Great customer service. They have daily specials posted inside the restaurant. Highly recommend!

A highly recommended place, I visited it with my family. You feel very peaceful there, the food is delicious, the waiting time was not very long, the price is good for the order, we didn't know that there were no pupusas on Sundays so keep that in mind, the waitress is super friendly, and the favorite drink is purple juice. The steak is very tasty, a fairly large plate and the tacos are delicious. Visit this place, you will surely have a good experience too.

At first it doesn't look like a restaurant at all because its kind of gated off and there's a sign that says private property. If you see such a place then it's the right one because the door looks like it is also gated but you can go inside. This is my first time having papusas and I will say that they are the first place that had something beans in it that I liked. I'm not a fan of beans at all but the way they made it is amazing. It's the best kind of papusa that they have there. They also have horchatas and other drinks. Its kind of a small place but the food is bomb. The people there don't speak English that well but they are very friendly. If you like papusas or have never had it before then I recommend coming to this place as you won't be disappointed.

So good, and a unique taste that you can't get at most latin food establishments. Give them a try! Get the loroco pupusa with cheese, put the hot sauces and the slaw they provide on it and be amazed!

Loved absolutely everything we ate! Tamales Guatemaltecas were awesome, the chicharron con queso (pork&cheese) and frijol con queso (black bean&cheese) were excellent - though the ayote con queso (zucchini&cheese) papusa was my favorite of them. The garnaches with shredded beef and the pickled veg on the side are delicious also. The slaw served generously at the table in its own jar is vinegary, very nicely flavored and fantastic with everything, as are the assorted sauces.

I've been in this area for a while and I've heard great things about this place. I've always wanted to go but the timing never panned out until I was in East Brainerd and free for dinner. It was the perfect time and place to go. My friend and I came here, got seated quickly, and ordered right away. We both got horchata and three pupusas. I picked a Chicken, Chicken and Cheese, and Bean and Cheese pupusas. When I first ordered it I wasn't sure how large the pupusas would be and if it would be enough. But after seeing it and eating, the portion size was perfect. Every bite was delicious. The filling inside was delicious and had a generous amount. But don't even get me started on the sides. The curtido (pickled veggies/vinegar slaw) was incredible. When they dropped off our food, they also gave us a full container of curtido. After we were done with our food, our container was finished as well. There was only juice left inside and if I wasn't full, I would've drank that thing. It had the perfect tang, not too vinegar-y or too acidic, and the vegetables were so crunchy and fresh. And the salsa too! Flavorful, had a nice kick, perfect spice level. I've heard good things about this place for years and after coming here, it's not hard to see why. I look forward to coming back here again.
